Dr. Sheng Wei is tenured Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics,the Chair of Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST). He graduated with a major in Preventive Medicine in 1995 and received his PhD in 2006 from Tongji Medical College. And Dr. Wei worked as Post Doc fellow in MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2008-2011. Dr. Wei’s research is mainly focused on biomarkers related to cancer and other chronic non-communicable disease. He and his team has published over 800 original papers (including Cancer Research, GUT, Clinical Cancer research and Carcinogenesis). Dr. Wei is the recipient of the Hubei Province Second Awards of both Natural Science and Scientific Advancement.

As a principal investigator, I have conducted the following funded research:

1.Genome wide lung cancer related copy number variation study by pooling DNA approach(2011), NFSC project No: 81172754。

 

2.The application of  systemic  review and meta-analysis on food safe (2012)

 

3.The warning model for influenza based on the complex network (2007), funded by the Health Department of Hubei Province.

 

4.The impact of LPL (1ipoprotein lipase,LPL) gene polymorphisms to effect of community intervention for essential hypertension. (2005), funded by the Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

 

5.Relief policy study for HIV infectious people via blood filtering (2005), funded by China AIDS Roadmap Tactical Support Project.

 

6.The study of the adult eating behavior evaluation questionnaire (2003), funded by China CDC.

 

7.The study of important infectious disease early warning indicator system (2003), funded by the Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
