Dr. Liegang Liu is tenured Professor of Department of Nutrition and Food Hygiene, vise dean of School of Public Health, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). He graduated with a major in Preventive Medicine in 1989 and received his PhD degree in 1999 from Tongji Medical University. Dr. Liu’s research is mainly focused on nutritional epidemiology and prevention of type 2 diabetes, gene-nutrients interactions and risk of type 2 diabetes, biological significance of heme oxygenase-1 and related gene in type 2 diabetes and cognitive impairment. He has published over 65 original papers in SCI-collected journals in Corresponding author, including BMJ, Diabetes, Diabetes Care, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, and American Journal of Epidemiology.
