Dr. Ping Hu is associate professor of Institute of Environmental Medicine, School of Public Health in Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST). She graduated with a major in Environmental Science at Nankai University in 2004 and received her PhD in Soil Microbiology at Texas A&M University in 2012. She worked as a postdoctoral research associate in rhizosphere soil microbial ecology using metagenomic and metatransciptomic methods at Virginia Tech University from 2012 to 2014, and studied human microbiome as a visiting scholar in Karolinska Institute, Sweden in 2016. Dr. Hu’s research mainly focused on environmental and human microbiome related to human health and diseases. Currently she is working on the relationship between human microbiome (gut and oral) and type 2 diabetes.
