【主讲简介】
Dr Chang is a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, based at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity. She earned her PhD from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2017.
Dr. Chang’s research career is characterized by a unique transition from the genetic susceptibility of ageing and non-communicable diseases to a pioneering niche in infectious diseases, specifically tuberculosis and enteric fever. She has developed innovative analytical pipelines for paired genomic analyses of both human and bacterial genomes.
Her contributions include leading the largest GWAS meta-analysis in Asians to identify the first replicated non-HLA susceptibility locus for tuberculosis, linking it to Clonal Hematopoiesis of Indeterminate Potential (CHIP). This work forms the foundation of her current research on the intersection of CHIP, infection, and epigenetic ageing.
With extensive experience leading international collaborations across Asia, Dr. Chang has published 30 peer-reviewed papers (702 citations). Her academic excellence is recognized by prestigious awards, including the 2025 NHMRC Ideas Grant. Currently, she is a member of the International Tuberculosis Host Genetics Consortium (ITHGC) and leads large-scale genomic data analysis for international cohorts.
